You can now upload the fonts you have licensed for a client and use them on covers and on burned-in captions, everywhere in the Social suite.
Your own fonts sit inside Social, either in Accounts on a client folder or right in the clip editor's font pickers. Upload a typeface in woff2, woff, ttf or otf and it shows up at the top of every font picker under 'Your fonts'. From there it is ready to use on cover headlines and on captions burned into the video itself.
Built-in display faces work for covers, which render in the browser, but burned-in captions get baked into the video file, so the renderer needs the actual font file to draw them. Without a way to upload a client's licensed font, you were stuck using a default face on captions even when the client's brand guide called for something specific. Now the Caption Font picker in the Subtitles step offers Default plus any fonts you have uploaded, so the caption on screen can match the client's brand exactly.
Say you're cutting social clips for a coffee brand and their brand font is licensed to your agency. Upload that font file to their client folder in Accounts. Pin it so it always sits at the top of the list for that client, and add a short grey note next to it, something like 'Caption Color', so anyone on your team picks the right weight without guessing. From then on, that font appears first in the Caption Font picker and in the cover editor whenever you're working inside that client's folder. Take the same clip editor to a project outside that folder and the font is still there, just in plain alphabetical order with no pin and no note, because a label written for one client's work doesn't mean anything on another's.
This is for anyone cutting social clips under a brand guide: agencies juggling several client fonts at once, in-house teams matching a company style, and podcast or documentary editors turning long recordings into clips that still look on-brand. Because the fonts belong to your account alone, they're never shared with anyone else, so your licence stays exactly where it should.
Upload a client's font and see it on your next batch of clips in ScriptCut.
Woff2, woff, ttf or otf files are all supported.
Yes. The Subtitles step has a Caption Font picker with Default plus your own fonts, and whichever one you pick gets rendered into the video itself.
Burned-in captions are rendered into the video file, so the renderer needs the actual font file. The built-in display faces only work for covers, which are made in the browser.
Pinning a font inside a client folder keeps it at the top of every font picker for that client, so your team finds the right one fast.
No. The pin and description only apply inside that client's folder. On a project outside it, the same font still appears but in plain alphabetical order with no pin and no note.
No. Uploaded fonts belong to your account alone and are never offered to anyone else's account, since the licence is yours to use.
Yes, uploaded fonts use your account's storage the same way any other file does.
