More than most free plans out there. Transcribe your footage, manually select your best moments, arrange them, and send a shareable review link so a client can approve your cut, all on up to 3 projects. You also get a plain-text editor cut sheet with timecodes, free cloud imports from Dropbox, Google Drive, and Frame.io, and free transcript downloads any time. Transcription is $7/hour.

Starter removes the 3-project cap (unlimited projects) and adds what you need to hand off a polished cut: a formatted, presentable PDF of your selects, timeline auto-assembly (an XML export that rebuilds your selects as a rough cut in Premiere, Resolve, Avid, or Final Cut), subtitles of your edited cut (not just the full transcript), and History, auto-saved restore points you can roll back to any time. Transcription also drops to $5/hour.

ProAI is for anyone who wants ScriptCut to do the first pass of the edit, not just organize it. It unlocks the full AI suite: AI Cleanup (flags off-topic lines, crew chatter, and false starts automatically), AI Select (finds your strongest moments across the whole transcript), AI Arrange (puts your picks in a clear order), AI Story (assembles a finished, ready-to-watch edit for you), , and AI Clips (pulls short highlight clips from your transcript). You also get high-quality, podcast-grade audio export, custom branding on your review links and PDFs, 1,500 AI credits and 60 transcription minutes included every month, and the lowest transcription rate at $4/hour. ProAI is also the only plan besides Social that opens ScriptCut's Social suite, so you can turn any long recording into short vertical clips without a separate subscription.

Social is built for creators and marketers who need short-form content out of long recordings, fast. Upload a video and AI Clips finds your best moments and cuts them into short, vertical clips automatically, reframed shot by shot with automatic split screen whenever two people are talking. ScriptCut also writes the caption for each post (the actual text you'd publish alongside the clip, tailored per platform, with hashtags if you want them), designs a cover image, and lets you plan and publish everything on a content calendar. We're currently supporting Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube Shorts. The best part: You're never stuck with what the AI gives you. You can manually adjust the story, framing, zoom, timing, and cuts on any clip yourself, exactly like a hands-on editor would. No editing skills required.

Social includes everything Free does: transcribe your footage, then manually select and arrange it, just like a Free account. What it doesn't include is ProAI's automated AI Cleanup/Select/Story/Arrange suite or the XML export built for traditional editing software, since Social is built around exporting short clips for social media, not a full timeline for your editing software.

Transcription is billed per hour of footage: $7/hour on Free, $5/hour on Starter, $4/hour on ProAI. Social works differently since it's built for shorter, high-volume content: it includes 200 processed minutes a month, plus 300 AI credits a month to cover your AI Clips runs, captions, and cover images. You can top up credits or minutes anytime you need more.

Yes. Upgrading takes effect immediately, you're charged the prorated difference right away so the new features unlock instantly. Downgrading takes effect at the end of your current billing period, so you always keep what you already paid for.

Cancel anytime from your account settings, no calls or emails needed. You keep full access through the end of your current billing period. After that, your 3 most recently updated projects stay fully editable on the Free plan, and older projects switch to read-only so you can still open and download them. Upgrading again unlocks everything immediately.
