One Media Gallery For Every File

September 21, 2026

ScriptCut now has a Media Gallery: every file your account has ever uploaded, in one place, ready to reuse across projects without uploading it again.

What It Is

The Media Gallery is its own page in the Social sidebar, with toggles for B-roll, Music, Logos and Opening / Closing files. It also shows up inside the Social editor's Inspector, wherever you add media (B-roll, Music, the Logo bug, opening and closing videos), through an Add from Gallery button next to Upload. Open the gallery from a media section and it filters to just that kind of file: the Logo bug section only shows logos. Pick the ones you want, press Add to Project, and they're in.

The Problem It Removes

Without a gallery, every project means uploading the same logo, the same intro video, the same music bed over and over, filling your storage with copies of one file. The Media Gallery keeps one copy of each file and lets you pull it into as many projects as you need.

How It Works

Say you run an agency and every client video ends with the same outro clip and the same background track. Upload each once, then use Add from Gallery on every new project to drop them in. Organize your files with folders: click Add Folder, drag files onto it, or right click and choose Move to folder. Lasso-select several files at once, or tick the select box to grab everything. Switch between grid and list, sort, or search to find what you need.

Hover any file to play it right in the gallery. Videos and tracks show their length in the corner of the thumbnail. A music track shows its waveform, and pressing play opens a player at the bottom of the page with play and pause, previous and next track, a seek bar, volume and speed. Videos have a small full-screen button in the top right corner for a proper full-screen preview, closed with Escape or the X.

You can also just drop files anywhere on the Media Gallery page. It sorts them itself: a picture lands in Logos, and so on by file type.

Removing a file from a project with the small X on its thumbnail only takes it off that project, it stays in your gallery. Deleting actually happens in the gallery: delete a video or track and it's removed from every clip that uses it and from your storage. Delete a logo and it's gone everywhere, every client, every project, every clip. Deleting a folder never deletes what's inside it, the files just move up a level.

Who It Helps

Agencies and marketers running the same intro, outro or logo across many client videos. Podcast and video teams reusing music beds and B-roll across episodes. Anyone tired of re-uploading the same file and watching storage fill up with duplicates.

Try it in ScriptCut and stop uploading the same file twice.

frequently asked questions

One Media Gallery For Every File FAQs

Does adding a file to a new project create a duplicate?

No. Add from Gallery reuses the same stored file across as many projects as you like, so your storage does not fill up with copies.

What happens if I remove a file from a project?

The small X on a thumbnail only takes the file off that project. It stays in your Media Gallery for reuse later.

What happens if I delete a file from the gallery?

A deleted video or track is removed from every clip that uses it and deleted from storage. A deleted logo is removed from every client, project and clip, and the file is deleted entirely.

Can I organize my files into folders?

Yes. Use Add Folder, then drag files onto a folder or right click and choose Move to folder. Deleting a folder never deletes the files inside, they just move up a level.

Can I preview a file before adding it?

Yes. Hover any file to play it. Videos have a full-screen preview button in the corner, and music tracks open a full player with seek, volume and speed controls.

Does the gallery only show files for one project?

No. It shows every file your account has ever uploaded, and you can filter by B-roll, Music, Logos or Opening / Closing.

How do I get files into the gallery quickly?

You can drop files anywhere on the Media Gallery page and it sorts them by type automatically, for example a picture goes straight into Logos.
