You can now send a cut through several reviewers in order, each one signing off before the next reviewer even sees it.
Multi-stage sign-off is a toggle in the share link's Advanced settings. Instead of one link with one approval, you set up a chain: Producer, then Client, then Legal or Comms. Each stage has to approve before the next stage opens.
Right now, approvals often happen out of order or all at once, and it is easy to lose track of who actually signed off before a cut went further. A single shared link does not tell you if Legal saw the final version, or if the Client approved before or after Legal did. This feature fixes the order and the record.
Turn on multi-stage sign-off from the share link's Advanced settings and set your stages, for example Producer, then Client, then Legal/Comms. ScriptCut creates a separate named sign-off link for each stage, so you send the Legal/Comms link only to Legal, and it only becomes active once the Client has approved. Once every stage has signed off, the project locks.
Say an agency cuts a product video for a coffee brand. The producer reviews and signs off first. Then the brand's marketing contact gets their own link and signs off next. Only after that does the Legal/Comms link activate, so legal review always happens on the version the client actually approved, not an earlier draft.
This is built for teams where more than one person has to approve before a cut is final: agencies working with brand and legal contacts, production teams with a producer and a client, or any project where sign-off has to happen in a set order. It gives you one clear record of who approved what, and when.
Try it on your next cut in ScriptCut.
It is a toggle in the share link's Advanced settings. Turn it on and add your stages in the order you want them approved.
The example chain is Producer, then Client, then Legal/Comms, and you set the order that fits your project.
No. ScriptCut creates a separate named sign-off link for each stage, so each reviewer only sees their own link.
The Legal/Comms link only becomes active once the Client stage above it has approved, so review always happens in order.
The project locks once the full chain has signed off.
Yes, the sign-off chain shows each stage and its approval status, including once every stage is marked approved.
