ScriptCut now has a client approval link: one page where a client watches each finished clip, reads its caption, and either approves it or asks for a change with a comment.
On any clip in Social, next to Edit project, you can create an approval link for that project. It shows every finished clip with its cover and caption. The client needs no account, just their name once, and you can add, change or remove a password at any time. There is also a client link, set on a client folder in Social > Accounts, that covers everything you make for that client across every project, including projects inside a campaign folder.
Approvals used to mean email threads, vague notes and someone re-checking which version a client actually saw. This link fixes that: nothing on it is a snapshot. Titles, covers and captions are read live every time the page opens, so a caption you rewrite after sending the link is the caption they judge. And if you edit a clip after they already answered, their approval is marked out of date, on their page and in your window, instead of quietly staying green next to words they never saw.
Say you send a coffee brand five clips from a product shoot. They open the link, watch three, approve them, and ask for a change on the fourth with a comment about the caption. A change request never sends without that comment, so you're never left guessing. You get a notification with a running tally, approved, changes asked for, still waiting, at most every fifteen minutes, so their pass through ten clips is one message, not ten. The video only renders when they press play, so the link costs nothing to open even with everything you've ever sent them sitting on it. Clips you add later aren't visible until you say so; the window tells you how many are hidden and offers to add them.
The client link works the same way but at the account level: one link a client keeps for good, listing every finished clip you've ever made for them by project, with Download all on any project and Download everything at the top for the whole lot in one zip, captions as text files and covers included. Pressing Create again on either link just hands back the same one, so answers never split across two links.
In Settings > Client view you can turn Ask for changes off, so the page only offers Approve. You can turn off Download the videos, so they can watch but not take the file. You can require an email before the link opens. All three are enforced on the server, not just hidden buttons. And on a client's Client kit, one Client access switch closes every link that client holds at once, their review, folder, download and approval links, without you needing to remember each one. It only closes; turn it back on and every link returns exactly as you left it.
Anyone sending finished clips out for sign-off: an agency running social clips for a brand, a podcast producer clearing episodes with a host, a freelance editor working through a documentary client. If you've ever sent a shared drive folder and a separate email asking 'did you check the third one yet', this replaces both.
Try it on your next batch of finished clips in ScriptCut.
No. They type their name once to open the link, and you can add a password to it at any time.
Their approval is marked out of date on their page and in your window, so nobody mistakes an old approval for one on the current version.

They stay hidden until you choose to add them. Your window tells you how many are waiting.
Yes. The Client access switch on their Client kit closes every link they hold at once, and turning it back on restores each one as you left it.
