AI Clips now lets you type the exact length you want, from 10 seconds to 2 minutes, and choose whether that number is a ceiling or a target.
Inside Social, when you run Use AI on a set, you can now set a runtime in seconds before the clips get made. You pick between two modes: Max runtime, which never goes over the length you type, and Exact runtime, which lands each clip on that length within 5 seconds either way.
Different platforms and different slots want different lengths, and eyeballing a transcript to guess how long a clip will run wastes time. Before, you took what AI Clips gave you and trimmed after the fact. Now you tell it the length up front and it builds to that length, so you spend less time cutting clips down or stretching them out.
On Review, press Create Social Clips to make a copy of the version just for clips, your original is untouched. Inside that set, press Use AI, choose how many clips you want, type a length in seconds, and pick Max or Exact runtime. Say you need three clips for a feed that caps posts at 45 seconds: type 45, pick Max runtime, and each clip comes in at 45 seconds or under, whatever makes the strongest single-topic story. If you need clips that all run exactly 30 seconds for a fixed ad slot, type 30 and pick Exact runtime instead. In both cases, the AI marks which beats it would drop first, so the hook and the payoff are always protected and never the part that gets trimmed to hit your number.
Anyone turning a podcast, panel, vlog or interview into social clips for platforms with strict length rules. An agency cutting the same recording into a 15 second teaser and a 60 second feature gets both without manual trimming. A podcast host making a week of daily clips for a feed that only allows 30 seconds gets clips that already fit.
Run it again and you add more clips at the same or a different length, the ones you already made stay as they are.
Try it on your next recording in ScriptCut.
It is in the Use AI panel inside a Social clips set, which you create from Review by pressing Create Social Clips.
Max runtime never goes over the length you type and may come in shorter if that makes a stronger clip. Exact runtime always lands on the length you type, within 5 seconds either way.
Two minutes. Anything you try to make longer than that is marked Too long and cannot be downloaded or posted until it is shortened.
Ten seconds.
No. Running AI Clips again on a set only adds new clips, it never changes clips you already made.
No. Create Social Clips makes a copy of the version just for clips, so your original recording is never touched.
No. The AI marks which beats it would drop first, so the hook and payoff are protected and the length is fit around them.
