Team seats now follow who actually joins: invite into a free seat and it just sends, fill every seat and you see the cost first, and a seat comes off on its own when someone leaves.
Before, growing a team meant buying seats ahead of time and guessing how many you'd need. Now seats are added only when someone accepts an invite and a seat isn't free. If there's an open seat, the invite goes out right away, no extra step.
Nobody wants to pay for seats sitting empty, and nobody wants a surprise when a new hire joins mid month. This removes both. You only pay for a seat once a person is actually in, and you know the cost before it happens.
Say your team has 3 seats and all 3 are filled. You invite a fourth editor from Settings > Team. Before anything is charged, a window shows what one more seat will cost. Once that editor accepts the invite, the seat is added and charged to the card already on file for the rest of the billing period, nobody has to re-enter card details. If that card is declined, they can't join yet and the owner and admins get an email.
Later, if someone leaves the team, their seat comes off the bill automatically at your next renewal. Nothing is refunded for the time already paid, and the team never drops below 3 seats.
Admins aren't just spectators anymore either: they can send invites and they can be the one whose card is charged when a new seat is added, not just the owner.
Agencies and production teams whose headcount shifts project to project get the most out of this: bring on a freelance editor for a busy month, let their seat drop off automatically when the project ends. Podcast networks and marketing teams adding one producer at a time also avoid paying for seats before anyone is using them.
